Founder & Principal

Heidi (she/her) has close to two-decades of experience working with clients to create more racially equitable results. She is the founder and principal of Equity Matters, which has a vision and mission of working to create social, environmental, and racial justice.

Heidi received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Asian Studies from St. Olaf College, and a Master’s of Social Work with an emphasis on Multi-Ethnic Practice from the University of Washington. Cyclist

I enjoy experiencing life and the world on two wheels. You can spot me riding around South Seattle on most days. One of my proudest riding moments was convincing my partner to incorporate bikes into our wedding exit. Now I need to convince her to allow me to take our dog for a ride. Some of my favorite bike memories are weekly rides with high school students, including riding Seattle to Portland (200+ miles) together three times. Before COVID, I spent at least a week a year peddling around South Korea. It was my excuse to practice Korean, eat Korean food (just ‘food’ in Korea), and physically connect with my homeland. Feel free to chat with me about bikes or Korea, but especially biking in Korea.
